BEACON TIME ENTRY

Welcome to an overview of BEACON time entry.

You will need ACCESS TO a computer with sound capability and the
Windows Media Player.

This program is narrated (following the opening text slides) so please adjust
your speakers and/or the sliding volume bar on the media player.

The files are large; please be patient while they load.

Click HERE for TUTORIAL A: entering vacation, sick, civil, etc. leave.

Click HERE for TUTORIAL B: entering overtime, call-back time, on-call time, injury leave, and holiday worked.

[NOTE: In some agencies, salaried staff working a standard M-F workweek only need to enter exceptions to that standard week (in other words, they only need to record any time taken off).]

Note that you will be entering time in DECIMALS (not minutes). A printable quick reference guide includes a minutes-to-decimal converter table.

NOTE: If you like, you can work on your own time sheet side-by-side with the tutorial by opening both the tutorial and the BEACON portal at the same time. You will need to MINIMIZE and RESIZE both screens. Minimize by clicking at the top of the screen as shown. To resize: place your mouse over the lower right corner of the screen. A double-ended arrow will appear; click and drag to reduce the screen size. See picture below.
