Having problems accessing the
DDI courses?

Before doing anything else, check to make sure you're using Internet Explorer (NOT Netscape). Look for the 'e' icon in the upper left corner of your screen:

Problem: Message says "page not found", "page cannot be displayed", etc.
Solution:  Double-check the Web address you're using. The addresses are long and do NOT start with "www". Try accessing the courses through the links here.

Problem: main page is displayed but you can't log in.
Solution: be very careful with your login. For Web-based courses username is: first name space last name, (all lower case), and password is: first 4 letters of last name no space last 4 digits of Social Security number. 

Example: username john smith  password smit0000

If the problem persists ask your training coordinator to check the status of your account.

Problem: Video will not play.
--Solution1: be sure Windows Media Player is installed. (To check: at the bottom left of your screen click start-programs and scroll down.)  If not you can download it here. (see *Note below)
--Solution 2: Your JIT Compiler may be disabled. Go to the bottom left of your screen and click start-control panel-internet options. Click on the 'advanced' tab; scroll down and check in the box beside "JIT Compiler for Virtual Machines Enabled".  You will then need to restart your computer.
--As video is loading you may see a gray popup box asking whether you want to download a Microsoft windows media or codec accessory. Click "YES" ( but see note below).

 

**Note: If you do not have the required technology and do not know how to download it, or are not allowed to install it, please contact your training coordinator and/or computer services/IT department.**
